Dear Gang and anyone else who reads this,
What an unique experience this will be! I have sent all of my lessons in and most of them have been approved. My art lessons are fun and creative. I am excited to do an Andy Warhol inspired project with the kids and introduce them to the idea of pop culture. My intensive reading lessons are .... well .... intense! I am most excited to read Langston Hugh's "Thank you Ma'am" to my students. The dialogue does not reflect Standard American English and we can do some interesting grammar activities with that. I am excited to see how the lessons unfold and will blog along the way.
As for traveling. I have been spending a lot of time on lonelyplanet.com
I posted a forum question on their about traveling to SE Asia and I got some responses and advice. One of the members who responded has a blog on blogger:

He wrote about his experience as a soldier in Vietnam. He also has websites about traveling in this area.

Lesson Planning...
So I finally have free time to get to my lesson plans...my poor co-teacher...but I've jumped in head first and I have outlines for some pretty interesting lessons! I wonder how entertaining the young children will find me when I'm dancing around the room and singing "If your happy and you know it...???"

A few more weeks to go...
In January, Vietnam seemed a life time away...now, we're down to the wire. In the next month I think I need to accomplish 36 things on my TO-DO List! Ms. Liz I hope to get my act together like you one of these days!!!
...She couldn't help thinking there was a little more life somewhere else...after all, it was a great big world, with lots of places to run to...
